What about my PASSIONS? Here's how I have been trying to maintain them!

What about my PASSIONS? Here's how I have been trying to maintain them... Hello, and welcome back! I know, I know. I have been gone for quite a while now.. and even worse, I haven't even entered the blogs about my conferences I've promised. But here me out.. I've got some real good excuses-- or at least, I think. Hahaha. So here's what I was up to for my 2016 Summer. 1. First of all, I interned in the Risk Management Department for CIMB. I interned for a round a month, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I met a lotttt of really dedicated, lovely people, one of whom I have already started calling "mommy." Hhahah Bong Nita, you're hilarious. Thank you for the entertainment on the boring office days. Other than that, on the serious side, I actually sat down to read and understand a lot of the Group Policy, Credit Policy and Manual, etc. I also did many case studies on the credit loans, home loans, commercial loans. I'd like to think I have a pretty g...

On Self-Love, my story

I am still a very firm believer:  love  gives you hope. And I also know full-well, that God loves me. My family loves me, and my friends  love  me. However, I am at that point in life when I am struggling to answer the question of whether I  love  myself. Do I  love  myself enough? Do I need to start loving myself a little more? A lot more?   The answer is I am unsure, but my guts tells me 'no.'   The next logical question is probably, "When, then, did I lost this practice of  self - love ? and even worse, siwtched it with  self -loath, always heavily criticizing my own habits and amplifying my own wrong-doings? To answer that question, I need to dig a little deeper into my high school years. In tenth and eleventh grade, I was undoubtedly very focused in getting into Engineering school. Prior to entering twelve grade, I stumbled across a girl. My very first  love . As I am writing this, I am actually  on ...

Tools of Titans, Love, Life and Everything Else in Between

Tools of Titans, Love, Life and everything else in between 1. Tools of Titans During the tech entrepreneurship conference in San Francisco, one of the McGill grads, who is now a venture capitalist in the Bay Area recommended this book. During my last two days in Montreal, before I hopped on the plane to come to Cambodia for the summer, I picked this book up at Indigo and I can tell you this: it was the best decision of my life. I have learnt much more from this book than anyone else. It's like I have 50 different mentors from all walks of life at once. Maybe I will do a review (in-dept) very soon, but as for now, I am really taking my time off. The most I'd been doing while reading is jot down notes on yellow sticky sheets. 2. Love Well, never thought I'd put this up on my blog since I'd considered it more on the "intellectual side,"but hey, love is a part of life, might as well talk a little about it. For those of you who know me, you all realize I a...

Entrepreneurship Conference in San Francisco

Image
I just got selected to go to the Entrepreneurship Conference in San Francisco! Well, I woke up last night from (nearly) 2 hours of tossing and turning, not being able to go to sleep because the thought of a social media platform development was on my mind. However, as I was checking my email, I found out that I got selected to attend the conference!! I am super, super happy, because I am aware that we will be touring big names in the silicon valley, as well as connecting with people (and mentors) of the same passion and interest. The application consisted of: sending in a motivational paper and my CV, then an interview with one of the Cansbridge fellow. Questions ranged from, "why you?" "what do you want out of this?" "tell me about yourself, and your entrepreneurial side." I am so, so excited. Here's to hoping the visa will come out in time! As for now.. however... let's enjoy some aesthetically pleasing photos of San Frans while listening ...

Hello, everyone! ជំរាបសួរ។ I know. It has been a long time. However, I am back! As good as ever. In case you've been wondering why I haven't posted in sooo long what I have been up to, let me briefly describe. As you all know, I stopped my last post with a cliff hanger. And most of you are probably wondering-- did she end up getting that CIMB ASEAN Scholarship? I am happy to announce that I did! Here, I will link you to a Phnom Penh Post Interview about it: Besides from that, I might have not mentioned this in previous posts, however, I am currently pursuing a Bachelors of Engineering in Chemical Engineering with a (likely) minor in Finance. I will go into that a little later. During the course of my first year here at McGill, I have been involved with the Chemical Engineering Student Society as the U0 representative. I have also volunteered regularly with Promoting Opportunities for Women in Science and Engineering (conferences, etc). Last but not least, I was recentl...
